KUALA LUMPUR: Lynas Malaysia has secured a 10-year licence extension for its rare earths plant in Gebeng, but under much tougher conditions that will see the production of its controversial radioactive residue halted after five years and no new permanent disposal facility (PDF) built.
THE government has approved the renewal of Lynas Malaysia Sdn Bhd’s full operating licence for 10 years from March 3, 2026 to March 2, 2036, subject to stricter conditions and a comprehensive review after five years.

SHAH ALAM – Lesen operasi Lynas Rare Earths Ltd (Lynas) di Malaysia telah diperbaharui oleh kerajaan untuk tempoh selama 10 tahun lagi bermula 3 Mac.
PARLIMEN, 2 Mac – Permohonan pembaharuan lesen di bawah Akta Tenaga Atom 1984 (Akta 304) kepada Lynas Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. diluluskan bagi tempoh 3 Mac 2026 hingga 2 Mac 2036.
